Inactivity Rules & 45-Day Auto-Delisting
To ensure marketplace freshness, protect buyers from abandoned stores, and maintain high catalog quality, BDX Marketplace enforces an automated Seller Inactivity & Delisting Policy. The system monitors seller account activity and automatically pauses inactive listings after 45 days of zero account interaction.
1. How Account Activity Is Calculated
BDX calculates seller activity based on the most recent login or interaction from the seller or authorized store team members.
- Activity checks run daily to ensure active store monitoring across the entire marketplace.
- Accounts that log in regularly maintain continuous listing visibility.
2. Inactivity Warning Stages & Timelines
The inactivity lifecycle progresses through four warning stages before reaching automatic store pausing:
| Inactivity Period | Warning Stage | System Action & Seller Notice |
|---|---|---|
| 7 Days | Stage 1 | Friendly Check-in: System generates an in-app notice checking seller availability. Listings remain active. |
| 14 Days | Stage 2 | Reminder Notice: Warning issued notifying seller of 14 days inactivity. Buyers can still purchase listings. |
| 30 Days | Stage 3 | Action Requested: Urgent notice asking the seller to verify inventory or pause unmonitored listings. |
| 45 Days | Stage 4 | Store Paused: All live listings transition to inactive status and are hidden from the catalog. |
3. The 45-Day Delisting Process
When a seller account reaches 45 days of zero login activity:
- Listing Pause:
- All live listings associated with the seller store are automatically changed to inactive status.
- Catalog Removal:
- Paused listings are instantly removed from catalog search results and product hubs, preventing buyers from purchasing unmonitored stock.
- Notification:
- An automated notification and email are dispatched: "Store Paused: Your store and live listings have been paused due to 45 days of inactivity. Log in to reactivate your listings."
4. Open Orders & Active Workspaces
The inactivity policy applies to future catalog checkouts only:
- If a seller has open orders paid prior to reaching 45 days of inactivity, those orders remain accessible for delivery.
- Buyers can still communicate with the seller inside active order messaging workspaces.
5. Account Reactivation & Store Recovery
BDX makes store recovery simple when an inactive seller returns:
- Log In to Reactivate:
- Logging back into your BDX account immediately updates your activity status and clears pending inactivity warnings.
- Re-activating Inventory:
- Listings paused at 45 days remain in inactive status on your Seller Dashboard to prevent accidental publication of outdated stock.
- Review your stock quantities and flip desired listings back to live status with a single click.
