Refund Process & Wallet Payouts

When a dispute is resolved in favor of the buyer on BDX (Bangladesh Digital Exchange), BDX executes an immediate financial reversal to ensure the buyer receives their funds quickly, securely, and through their preferred channel.

BDX provides flexible refund destination options—allowing buyers to choose between instant credit to their BDX Wallet balance or an external payout to their original bKash, Nagad, Rocket, or Bank account.

1. Refund Triggers & Verdict Resolution

A buyer refund is triggered under any of the following four conditions:

  1. Buyer Wins Dispute: A BDX administrator reviews the dispute evidence and resolves the case in favor of the buyer.
  2. Seller Default (24-Hour Overdue): The seller fails to respond to an open dispute within the mandatory 24-hour response deadline.
  3. Pre-Delivery Buyer Cancellation:
    • 3a. Unpaid order → cancels instantly, no money moved.
    • 3b. Paid order → becomes a cancellation request: the seller gets 24 hours to deliver or accept, then silence auto-refunds the refundable amount.
  4. Seller Order Cancellation: The seller cancels the order due to stock unavailability or pricing errors.

2. Refund Destination: Instant Wallet Credit, Then Optional Cash-Out

When a dispute is resolved in your favor, BDX credits the refund instantly to your BDX Wallet balance — the item price, no waiting. The buyer-protection fee and any online payment fee are consumed when you pay (escrow, dispute review, verified delivery) and are non-refundable, as shown at checkout before you paid. Want the fees back too? Ask for a refund to your original payment method — a real gateway reversal returns the full amount through the processor. Unpaid order cancellations move no money. Paid pre-delivery cancellations refund on seller accept or when the 24-hour window expires.

  • Speed: Instant / within 24 hours.
  • Convenience: Credited directly to your account's available BDX Wallet balance.
  • Amount: The item price — 100% of what the seller was going to receive. The protection + online fees stay with BDX (see above).
  • Usage: Spend immediately on any future order across the marketplace.

Option B: Cash Out to Mobile Money / Bank (bKash / Nagad / Rocket / Bank)

  • Speed: Sent within 24-48 business hours (statutory outer limit 10 days for original-method returns).
  • How: Go to Account → Wallet → Withdraw, enter amount + destination. Funds are held at once so they cannot be double-spent, and you can track requested → approved → paid (or rejected, which releases the hold back) in Withdrawal history — no support chat needed.
  • Verification: Submitted details are verified by BDX finance before the transfer is sent.

3. Financial Mechanics: How Escrow Reversal Works

BDX handles buyer refunds through automated escrow protection — the item price always comes back:

Escrow Unlocking

During the order lifetime, your money is held safely in BDX Escrow. When a refund is granted:

  1. The order status updates to refunded.
  2. The delivery status is marked as refunded.
  3. Seller payout is blocked, preventing any withdrawal of refunded funds.

Ledger Transparency

Every refund action creates an immutable transaction record in your account history. You can view your updated balance and full history at any time by visiting Account -> Wallet on your BDX dashboard.

4. Partial Refunds

In certain dispute scenarios, a full refund may not be appropriate—for instance, if you ordered 1,000 game diamonds but only received 500, or if 1 out of 3 software licenses in a bundle was defective.

  • Negotiated Settlement: The seller or BDX admin can propose a Partial Refund amount.
  • Execution: Upon acceptance, the agreed partial amount (e.g., 500 BDT out of a 1,000 BDT order) is immediately refunded to the buyer's BDX Wallet, while the remaining portion (minus BDX commission) is released to the seller. Cashing out a partial refund uses the same Account → Wallet → Withdraw flow above.

5. Security & Anti-Fraud Protections

To protect the BDX financial ecosystem and prevent abuse of the refund mechanism, strict security rules apply:

  • Single Refund Rule: An order can only be refunded once. System locks prevent duplicate refund processing.
  • No Clawback After Confirmation: Once an order has been manually confirmed by the buyer or auto-completed after 7 days, escrow funds are released to the seller's withdrawable wallet. Disputes and automated refunds cannot be opened post-completion.
  • Chargeback Policy: Buyers attempting fraudulent bank chargebacks while receiving digital goods or processed refunds will face immediate permanent account banning and legal reporting under local Bangladeshi digital commerce regulations.
